Due to the critical importance of the safety and quality of food provided to our citizens and residents living on the Kingdom's lands and our keen desire to leverage the nutrition value of the animal staff produced by the Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization, the organization established a quality control lab at each of its eleven branches. Those labs operate around the clock for the following purposes:

1. Inspection of wheat types delivered to Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization by taking representative samples and visually examine them to ensure they are free from insects, fertilizers, mold and any other abnormal changes that can be detected visually. 

2. Thereafter, analysis is done including specific gravity, impurities percentage, moisture content and protein ratio to ensure compliance of wheat to the approved specification. In addition tests are made to ensure the validity of wheat and other derivatives. 

3. Inspection of wheat periodically during storage in silos to verify its quality and before introduction to the processing such as enforcement of flour with vitamins and iron as well as various types of packing sacks.

4. Periodic inspection of end products such as flour by taking samples for various analysis such as specific gravity, impurities percentage, moisture content, protein ratio, gluten, finesse grade and finograph test and determination of enforcement of flour with vitamins and iron as well as baking tests.

5. Testing of components used in fodder processing such as corn, soya bean, clover powder, wheat bran and other components to ensure its quality and conformance with approved specifications before receiving them from the supplier. Analysis is conducted on a representative sample to determine moisture, fiber fat and fungal toxins contents. Also periodic testing is done during storage and before processing.

6. Periodic inspection of end products fodders such as fodders for poultry, cattle, (dairy and beef), pigeons, rabbits, equines, sheep and goats. Analysis is conducted on a representative sample to determine protein, calcium, phosphorous, fiber, fat, salt and fungal toxins contents in order to verify its nutritional quality and that the contents and mixing ratios are in compliance with specifications which should be similar and constant at all branches.


A central lab has been established at the head quarters to conduct quality insurance tests on the Organization products including all types of flour and fodder as well as their components to insure their quality. This central lab will be the base for conducting studies and experiments to develop the products of the Organization.
The central lab is equipped with state of the art systems and machines such as equipments for determination of proteins, gluten, fats, and fungal toxins (afla toxins) as well as the Finograph machine, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography to determine vitamins and amino acids, the Atomic Absorption. System to determine residual pesticides and the mass spectrometer to determine metals. 


The Organization has employed highly experienced staff to work at those labs in order to obtain the best and most accurate results and to continue products improvement and development.
